Beschrijving keerzijde	A grapevine bearing five pendant clusters of grapes fills a linear square frame at the centre of the reverse, symbolizing the Dionysiac identity of Mende and the region's celebrated viticulture. The ethnic legend ΜΕΝΔΑΙΟΝ is inscribed around the inner square, identifying the issuing city. The entire design is set within a deeply recessed incuse square, a hallmark technique of early northern Greek coinage, with the irregular punched surface lending the field a characteristic granular texture. The bold vine motif, rendered with careful attention to branching and fruit, constitutes one of the most distinctive reverse types in ancient Greek numismatics. The composition reflects the strong Dionysiac civic iconography of Mende throughout its fifth-century coinage.
