Obverse description Frontal bust of Christ Pantokrator, bearded and draped, enclosed within a plain inner border and a beaded outer border. Christ wears a nimbus cruciger with pellets along the crossbar and is depicted in the Pantokrator iconographic tradition, with long wavy hair falling to the shoulders. The right hand is raised in benediction while the left holds the Gospels, partially visible at lower center. Nomismatic christograms IC – XC appear in the fields to left and right respectively, rendered in Greek majuscule letters.
