| Obverse description | Facing Boeotian shield rendered in high relief, its distinctive curved outline with two symmetrical lateral cutouts clearly delineated. The shield's boss projects boldly at center, framed by the characteristic double-curved incisions at each side that define the Boeotian shield type. The design fills the flan in the archaic Boeotian tradition, with crisp, deeply struck relief typical of Theban silver coinage of the early fourth century BC. |
