| Beschrijving voorzijde | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, depicted with the ram's horn of Ammon curling before the ear, a divine attribute identifying him with Zeus-Ammon. The hair is rendered in thick, voluminous locks swept back from the forehead and falling in waves behind the neck, executed in the fine Hellenistic sculptural tradition. The facial features are idealized, with a strong profile, slightly open lips, and the characteristic upward tilt associated with Alexander's portraiture.
