| Beschrijving voorzijde | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with luxuriant, flowing curls framing the face. The royal diadem is tied around the hair, and a small but distinct horn of Ammon curls forward above the ear, proclaiming Alexander's divine status as son of Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is executed with considerable sculptural depth, the idealized facial features displaying a slightly upturned gaze characteristic of posthumous Lysimachean coinage. The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse. |
