Reverse description Athena Nikephoros seated in three-quarter view to the left upon a throne, her figure rendered in the canonical type established for Lysimachid coinage. In her extended right hand she holds a winged Nike who crowns the royal name with a wreath, while her left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with a central gorgoneion. A transverse spear is positioned diagonally behind her figure. In the inner left field appears the NK monogram serving as a mint control mark; the letters BY, denoting the Byzantion mint, appear on the throne. In the exergue, a filleted trident oriented to the left serves as an additional civic symbol of Byzantion. The reverse field carries the full royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ flanking the enthroned goddess.
