| Reverse description | Athena Nikephoros, helmeted and enthroned, seated left upon a throne, her left arm resting upon a large round shield set beside her and her right hand supporting a small Nike figure extending a wreath. A long transverse spear rises diagonally behind her in the field. The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ is disposed to the right of the throne. A monogram appears to the inner left, the civic ethnic ΒΥ is inscribed below the throne identifying the Byzantion mint, and an ornate trident — the civic badge of Byzantion — occupies the exergue. |
