| Obverse description | The characteristic Boeotian shield rendered in high relief, its distinctive incurved sides and two circular cut-outs clearly delineated against a flat field. The shield occupies nearly the full flan, with a prominent convex boss at the centre and a raised border framing the device. The hammered flan exhibits an irregular edge typical of hand-struck Boeotian coinage of the early fourth century BC. |
