| 裏面の説明 | A large, finely detailed amphora occupies the central field, depicted with double-scroll handles, a beaded or ribbed neck, and a tapering body resting on a short foot. The magistrate's abbreviated name is inscribed in Greek characters to either side of the vessel, with EY to the left and ΓI to the right. The entire design is set within a shallow concave incuse circle, a hallmark of Boeotian federal silver coinage, imparting a sunken, die-struck appearance to the reverse. |

This stater was struck in the decade following the liberation of the Kadmeia in 379 BC, when a small group of Theban exiles, with Athenian support, expelled the Spartan garrison that had occupied their citadel since 382 BC. The political recovery was swift and violent. By 371 BC, Thebes had destroyed a full Spartan army at Leuktra — the first decisive defeat of Spartan forces in open battle — and the mint was active throughout the military buildup that made that victory possible.
The Eugi magistrate designation ties this piece to a specific phase of Boiotian federal coinage administration, a system that rotated issuing responsibility among member poleis while maintaining consistent weight standards across the league.
