| Beschrijving voorzijde | Boeotian shield depicted facing, rendered in high relief with characteristic concave centre and symmetrical lateral cutouts forming the distinctive double-curved notches at left and right. The shield device fills the entire flan, its incurved sides carefully delineated by a raised border. The surface of the boss is deeply convex, creating a bold sculptural effect typical of Theban silver coinage of the early fourth century BC. |
