| Obverse description | Boeotian shield depicted facing, rendered in high relief with characteristic curved cutouts at left and right sides forming the distinctive notched silhouette. The shield is shown as a convex boss within a double-rimmed border, its surface plain and unadorned, occupying the full flan in the bold, schematic style typical of Theban federal coinage of the early fourth century BC. |
