| Reverse description | Bearded head of Herakles facing right, clad in the Nemean lion-skin headdress whose scalp and forelegs are draped about the hero's crown and temples. In the right field, a club is depicted vertically, pointing downward. The entire design is set within a border of raised dots contained within a shallow circular incuse, a hallmark of Lycian dynastic silver coinage of this period. The modelling of the beard and lion-skin reflects the eclectic blend of Greek artistic influence and local Lycian tradition characteristic of the dynast Arbinas. |
