| Obverse description | Facing Boeotian shield rendered in high relief, its characteristic cutouts visible at left and right sides, set within a plain circular border. The shield's convex boss dominates the field, with the curved incisions at either side faithfully reproducing the distinctive shape of this regional defensive armament. The design is boldly rendered in the archaic Greek tradition, with a smooth, rounded central field rising prominently from the flat rim. |
