| 正面描述 | The characteristic Boeotian shield rendered in high relief, its distinctive cutout notches visible on either side, filling the entire field. The convex boss of the shield dominates the design, worked in fine hammered style with crisp, well-defined edges. The shield's concave border frames the central boss, emphasizing the three-dimensional quality of the type. The plain field surrounds the device, with no legend or inscription present on this side. |

This stater falls within the decade following the liberation of the Kadmeia in 379 BC, when a small group of Theban exiles recaptured their own citadel from the Spartan garrison that had occupied it since 382 BC. The political upheaval that followed — and the rapid militarization of the Boiotian League under Pelopidas and Epaminondas — demanded a functioning treasury. These issues funded that effort directly.
The magistrate abbreviation "Amphi" is among the better-documented of the Boiotian series, cross-referenced through the BCD collection's careful die-linkage work. Hepworth's classification remains the standard for this period.
