The musculature and pose of the Nereid convey dynamic movement, characteristic of the high-quality engraving associated with Lampsakene gold coinage of the fourth century BC. The field is plain, with no legend or inscription. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, as typical of hammered Greek gold staters. |
