| Reverse description | Boar's head in right profile set within a recessed incuse square, rendered in bold relief with clearly articulated snout, tusks, and ear. To the upper right of the boar's head appears the civic ethnic legend ΛYTT / ION in two lines in Greek characters. The incuse square is surrounded by a beaded border following the inner edge of the coin's circumference, a hallmark of Cretan civic coinage of this period. The entire reverse composition is struck in a shallow incuse field, consistent with the hammered technique employed at the Lyttian mint. |
