Obverse description Full facing head of Zeus Ammon portrayed with bold, high-relief modeling, the visage framed by a thick, curling beard and wild leonine hair. The syncretic deity is distinguished by the characteristic curved ram's horns of Ammon emerging from the temples and curling behind the ears, merging seamlessly with the flowing locks. The deeply set eyes and broad, fleshy features convey a powerful divine presence rendered in the finest tradition of fourth-century Greek celature. A small circular perforation is visible to the left of the portrait, indicating the coin was mounted or suspended in antiquity.
