Obverse description Facing head of Athena wearing a crested Attic helmet, rendered in fine archaic relief with strong plastic modeling of the facial features. The goddess is depicted in a three-quarter facing left orientation, her cheek guards framing the face prominently. Below the bust, a tunny fish is placed horizontally in the field, oriented to the left, serving as the civic badge of Kyzikos. The coin is struck on a broad, slightly irregular flan typical of early electrum coinage from this mint.
