Reverse description Quadripartite incuse square divided by a raised cross into four recessed compartments, two of which display a pattern of raised dots arranged in a grid, and two of which appear as plain or lightly striated sunken panels. The incuse design is deeply struck and roughly square in outline, characteristic of early Archaic Greek reverse types. The overall execution reflects the standard mill-sail or checker pattern associated with Ionian silver issues of the late sixth to early fifth century BC.
