To the right of the tripod, the retrograde ethnic inscription ϘPO (for Kroton) is arranged vertically in archaic Greek letters. To the left of the tripod, a small olive branch with a bud or leaf is visible in the field. A dotted border runs along the lower periphery of the flan. The design is characteristic of Krotoniate coinage, where the tripod — a symbol of Apollo — served as the primary civic emblem. |
