| Obverse description | Forepart of a griffin in left profile, rendered in high relief with finely detailed musculature and outstretched forelegs in a crouching or lunging posture. The creature's head is raised, with an open beak and a prominent ear or horn visible. Beneath the griffin, serving as the characteristic Kyzikene device, a tunny fish is depicted in left profile, a hallmark emblem of the city of Kyzikos used to authenticate the coinage. The design fills the irregular flan with a commanding archaic artistic style. No legend or inscription is present. |

| Reverse description | A quadripartite incuse square dominates the reverse, divided into four equal rectangular compartments by a raised cross-shaped ridge, typical of early Greek hammered coinage produced by a single punch. The surfaces of the four sections are rough and granular in texture, consistent with the incuse punch technique employed at Kyzikos during this period. No legend, symbol, or secondary device is present within the incuse field. The overall impression is bold and deeply struck. |
