| Beschrijving keerzijde | A quadripartite incuse square divided into four equal rectangular compartments by a raised cross-shaped ridge, produced by the punch of the reverse die during striking. The incuse is deeply impressed and exhibits the characteristic mill-sail or windmill pattern seen on early Kyzikene electrum staters, with alternating raised and recessed quadrants creating a strong chiaroscuro effect. The surface within the incuse areas is rough and granular, consistent with the hammered technique employed in archaic Greek coinage production. |
