| Descrizione del dritto | Frontal bust of Emperor Theodosius III, depicted in full imperial regalia, wearing a crown surmounted by a cross and adorned with a lozenge-patterned loros draped across the shoulders. The emperor holds a globus cruciger in his right hand and an akakia in his left, both attributes of Byzantine imperial authority. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic flat, hieratic style of early eighth-century Byzantine coinage. A circular legend in debased Latin runs along the outer border of the field, with a beaded inner border framing the portrait. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A cross potent, with trefoil terminals at each arm, mounted prominently at center on three graduated steps, rendered in high relief against a plain hammered gold field. The stepped base, a hallmark of Byzantine solidus reverse types of this period, rises symmetrically from the lower field. A circular legend in debased Latin surrounds the design along the rim, with officina letter I appearing to the right, and the mint signature CONOB inscribed in the lower exergual area, denoting the Constantinople mint and confirmed gold purity. A beaded border frames the entire reverse. |
