Reverse description Frontal bust of Stauracius as co-emperor and despotes, youthful and beardless, wearing an imperial crown topped with a cross, draped in loros with fibula at center chest. A small patriarchal cross on shaft appears to the left of the figure. The surrounding legend identifies him as Stauracius Despotes, rendered in Latin majuscule characters, reflecting his subordinate but officially recognized imperial rank.
