Obverse description Central field depicts the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) standing to the left, bearing a long cross-staff with a pennant, rendered in fine relief characteristic of Brabantine hammered gold coinage. The lamb is shown with detailed fleece indicated by chevron engraving, standing on a ground line within a quadrilobe or cusped inner circle. The word DOX and additional abbreviations appear in the lower field, referencing the ducal title. The surrounding circular legend in uncial Gothic script reads the Agnus Dei invocation, divided by a cross pattee at the commencement, and is enclosed between two beaded or toothed borders.
