The facial features include strongly modelled lips formed by plant-stalk motifs, with pellet and crescent ornaments filling the field around the bust. The overall design reflects the abstract, decorative transformation of the classical laureate head prototype common to British Celtic coinage of this period. |

Pellets and annulets are scattered throughout the field, serving as decorative fill elements typical of Trinovantian die engravers. The legs and tail of the horse are rendered as sinuous curved lines, and additional plant or floral ornaments appear beneath the animal.
