| Obverse description | The obverse of this replica is a plain, uniformly struck field with no design, legend, or device. The surface displays a blue-toned patinated finish consistent with the intentional artificial toning applied to the 2004 issue. The rim is smooth with no ornamentation or inscription. |

| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a rampant lion passant guardant facing left within a wreath of laurel branches, faithfully reproducing the central device of the original 1546 Gimsøydaler issued under King Christian III of Denmark-Norway. The lion stands on its hind legs with its forepaws raised, rendered in high relief with detailed mane. A circular Latin legend surrounds the wreath, reading in full VANDALORVM GOTORVM QVE REX 1546, with the date incorporated into the legend. Below the wreath, the word KOPI (Norwegian for 'copy') appears in the field, along with IAR, identifying the piece as a modern replica. The surface bears an applied patinated blue-silver finish. |
