Obverse description Front-facing crowned bust of King John II within an inner beaded circle, the monarch depicted wearing a jewelled crown and draped armour with a beaded collar. A small crescent-shaped mintmark appears to the left of the bust in the field. The effigy is rendered in the late Gothic style typical of Aragonese hammered coinage. The surrounding legend in Latin runs between the inner beaded circle and the outer dentilated border.
