| Obverse description | Crowned bust of King Enrique IV facing left, depicted in a stylized late-medieval manner with a ornate floral crown and draped shoulders rendered in low relief. The effigy is set within a plain inner field, enclosed by a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend reads + ENRICVS* QVARTVS* DEI* GRACA, identifying the monarch as Henry IV by the Grace of God. The lettering is separated by star-shaped stops and contained between the beaded border and the outer toothed rim characteristic of hammered Castilian coinage of the period. |
