| Reverse description | Central device consists of a quartered shield bearing the arms of Castile and Leon — castles and rampant lions arranged alternately in the four quadrants, divided by a bold cross that extends to the inner border. The quadrants display the characteristic high-relief castle towers of Castile and the standing lion of Leon typical of Enrique II's coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounding the shield reads the royal title in abbreviated form, partially legible on the irregular flan. The overall style is consistent with hammered Castilian reales of the Trastámara period. |
