Alfonso V spent much of his reign absent from the Aragonese-Castilian mainland, preoccupied with his Italian campaigns and eventual permanent relocation to Naples after 1432. Majorca, nominally under his rule, operated with considerable administrative autonomy during these decades, and its mint continued striking silver in his name long after he had effectively ceased to govern the island in any practical sense.
Cru#836 is among the more consistently encountered Majorcan silver types from this reign, though die alignment irregularities are frequently noted across surviving examples — a product of the island mint's limited oversight rather than any deliberate variation.
