| Reverse description | A kantharos with two prominent scroll handles is depicted centrally, the vessel rendered with a wide mouth, narrow stem, and splayed foot in a style consistent with Hellenistic decorative motifs adapted for Judaean coinage. The Greek legend ΚΑΙCΑΡ appears above the kantharos along the upper periphery, while the date LΔ (regnal year 4, corresponding to 17-18 AD) is inscribed in the field flanking the lower portion of the vessel. The combination of the imperial title and regnal year date places this issue firmly within the administration of the prefect Valerius Gratus under Emperor Tiberius. |
