| Obverse description | High-relief depiction of Till Eulenspiegel, the legendary trickster figure, shown as a nearly bare-chested jester balancing on a tightrope, wearing a multi-pronged fool's cap with bells and a belted loincloth adorned with jingle bells. He holds an oversized pair of open scissors in his raised left hand, while pairs of shoes are strung on cords hanging from his body and scattered at his feet. The legend TILL EULENSPIEGEL appears in raised letters along the lower border, with the date 1911 and the engraver's signature K. PERL inscribed just above the rope line. |
