Beneath his feet is an heraldic shield of Burgundy quarterly, with a lion at center and a single fleur-de-lis in the first and fourth quadrants. The circumferential legend in Gothic uncial lettering is divided by the figure and punctuated by double saltires. The overall composition reflects the refined Burgundian Gothic style of the early fifteenth century. |

The circumferential legend in Gothic uncial lettering runs between two concentric beaded borders and is punctuated by star-shaped stops. |
