Obverse description Frontal facing bust of a crowned male figure, the arms replaced by coiling serpents extending to either side, the effigy rising above a crenellated wall rendered in low relief. The design is characteristic of the bracteate-influenced Pfennig coinage of Carinthia, with bold, schematic execution typical of late 13th- to early 14th-century hammered issues. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend. The irregular flan and shallow strike are consistent with contemporary minting practices of the Völkermarkt mint.
