| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a crowned heraldic shield bearing the Carinthian arms, rendered in a bold, primitive Gothic style characteristic of early 14th-century Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage. The crown surmounting the shield features stylized trefoil or fleur-de-lis points visible above the escutcheon. Flanking the shield on either side are small subsidiary devices or letters in the field. The design is struck on an irregular flan with characteristic high relief typical of hammered medieval silver coinage from the St. Veit mint. |
