The 1335 date places this coin at one of the most consequential dynastic transfers in medieval Austrian history: the extinction of the Carinthian Meinhardin line with the death of Henry of Bohemia and Carinthia, after which Emperor Louis IV transferred the duchy to the Habsburgs. St. Veit an der Glan had served as the ducal capital and primary mint seat of Carinthia for centuries, but Habsburg consolidation would eventually shift administrative and monetary weight decisively northward. The attribution to an "unknown ruler" reflects genuine ambiguity in the documentary record surrounding this precise transitional moment.
