Obverse description Facing bust of the king in high relief, rendered in the broad-flan bracteate-influenced style typical of 13th-century Styrian coinage. A cross suspended from a ribbon or chain is depicted at the neck, flanked on either side by an upright sword, their hilts visible at the lower field. The design is executed in low relief against a plain, unlettered field, with the irregular flan edge characteristic of hand-struck medieval pfennigs.
