正面描述 Facing bust of the duke depicted en face, wearing a distinctive head covering or crown, rendered in the schematic, high-relief style characteristic of Austrian medieval bracteate-influenced pfennige. The facial features — including eyes, nose, and mouth — are summarily indicated by punched or incised marks in the flat field. The design occupies the full flan, with no surrounding legend or inscription, consistent with Vienna mint pfennige of the early fourteenth century.

附加信息

Frederick the Handsome's claim to the duchy was contested almost from the start — he spent much of his reign locked in conflict with Louis IV of Bavaria over the Holy Roman Imperial throne, culminating in his capture at the Battle of Mühldorf in 1322. The Vienna mint continued producing these small denars throughout the struggle, though the political instability almost certainly disrupted output in ways the surviving record doesn't fully quantify.

Frederick remained Louis's prisoner until 1325, an imprisonment that effectively ended his imperial ambitions. CNA B222 places this type firmly within the Vienna series attributable to his reign.
