背面描述 A heraldic eagle displayed within a four-lobed quatrefoil frame, the concave spandrels between the lobes each filled with a small cross. The eagle and surrounding ornamental elements are struck in low relief typical of hammered medieval pfennigs, with the design showing the irregular flan edges characteristic of the type.

附加信息

Frederick III (known as Frederick the Fair) shared rule of Austria with his brother Leopold I following their father Rudolf I's death in 1307, a co-regency arrangement that complicated coin attribution for this period considerably. Frederick's claim to the German throne against Louis IV of Bavaria triggered the War of the Austrian Succession, culminating in his capture at the Battle of Mühldorf in 1322. He spent three years imprisoned at Trausnitz Castle before a negotiated release — meaning a portion of this type's issue dates were struck while its named ruler sat in a Bavarian dungeon.
