| Obverse description | A panther passant facing left occupies the central field, depicted in the characteristic Styrian heraldic style typical of medieval Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennigs. The animal is rendered in low relief with visible body mass and limb detail, consistent with the Styrian panther heraldic device. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with no surrounding legend. The field is unadorned, the design being confined to the central motif executed in the rough but expressive manner of mid-fourteenth century hammered coinage. |

| Additional information |
Frederick III of Habsburg ruled Styria during a period of near-constant dynastic contest within the Habsburg family itself, the duchy passing through multiple claimants across the mid-fourteenth century. These small bracteate-style pfennigs circulated regionally and were minted under conditions of fragmented authority, which accounts for the considerable die variation observed across surviving examples of this type.
