| Opis awersu | Uniface hammered silver pfennig struck on an irregularly shaped flan with characteristic medieval die-cutting. The central device depicts a right-facing figure, likely a stylized eagle or heraldic bird rendered in bold relief, with strongly incised parallel lines articulating the body and wings in the manner typical of Austrian Viennese bracteate-influenced deniers of the mid-14th century. The design is contained within an unbordered field, the surrounding area exhibiting the uneven surface characteristic of hand-hammered coinage. No legend or inscription is present, consistent with the anonymous small denomination pfennig coinage of Duke Albrecht II of Austria. |

Albrecht II — "the Lame" — ruled Austria for over three decades despite a debilitating illness that left him partially paralyzed from 1330 onward. His long reign brought unusual monetary stability to the duchy, and the Vienna mint operated with enough consistency during this period that the pfennig coinage is better documented than most contemporary Austrian issues. CNA B253 places this type firmly within his tenure, distinguished from the preceding Albrecht I issues by subtle die characteristics catalogued by Luschin in the late nineteenth century.
