Reverse description A cross pattée fleury at centre, with the right-hand arm of the cross left plain rather than fleury, a diagnostic feature of this type. The cross arms terminate in fleur-de-lis style at three of the four ends, with pellets or decorative elements visible in the angles between the arms. A partial moneyer's legend in Latin surrounds the design, naming the moneyer Aedelwine of Cardiff. The flan is irregular and the legend is partially off-flan, consistent with the hand-struck coinage of the civil war period.
