| Description de l’avers | The tughra of Sultan Abdülmecid I occupies the central field, rendered in the ornate calligraphic style characteristic of Ottoman imperial monograms, featuring the sultan's name and titles in intertwined Arabic script with characteristic upward strokes (tuğ). The tughra is enclosed within a continuous wreath of stylized leaves and branches that frames the entire design. The flat field surrounding the tughra shows no additional inscription. Weight is known to vary between 0.60 and 0.80 grams across the series. |

| Description du revers | The central field bears a three-line Arabic inscription in Ottoman script reading, from top to bottom, the mint epithet and name of Constantinople (Kostantiniyye) with the word 'Duriba' (struck) above, followed by the accession date 1255 AH in Arabic-Indic numerals at the base. A regnal year numeral appears in the upper portion of the legend indicating the specific year of reign. The entire inscription is enclosed within a wreath of stylized leaves and branches matching the obverse border, giving the coin a symmetrical, medallic appearance. |
