Obverse description Eagle standing left with wings closed, perched atop a rock or mound, head turned slightly downward. A single pellet (onkia mark) appears to the left in the field, serving as a denomination indicator. The rendering is characteristic of the archaic Sicilian style, with bold, deeply incised feather details on the body and folded wings. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, typical of hammered bronze coinage of this period.
