| Beschrijving voorzijde | Distorted Carolingian royal monogram occupying the central field, composed of interlaced letters derived from the Capetian tradition, enclosed within a plain inner circle and a beaded outer border. The monogram, a stylised cipher of the king's name, is rendered in low relief with angular, somewhat crude execution typical of 11th-century feudal coinage. The surrounding legend, beginning with a cross pattee, reads the king's name and title in degenerate Latin capitals.
