Obverse description Bust of Phraates II facing right, wearing a helmet or bashlyk headdress adorned with ear-flaps and decorated with feather or stud motifs. The portrait is rendered in a Hellenistic style with coarse, bold relief typical of Parthian hammered coinage. The king's facial features—prominent nose, defined jaw, and visible eye—are characteristic of the early Arsacid royal portrait tradition. The field around the bust is plain and slightly irregular due to the flan's uneven surface.
