| Beschrijving voorzijde | Frontal enthroned figure of King Charles Robert (Charles I of Hungary) of the Angevin dynasty, shown seated in full regalia wearing a crown; the king holds a sceptre or orb in the right hand and what appears to be a fleur-de-lis or globus cruciger in the left hand. The figure is rendered in a stylised, flat medieval manner characteristic of early fourteenth-century Hungarian hammered coinage. The compact, irregular flan leaves no space for a surrounding legend.
