Beschrijving voorzijde Central field depicts a stylized hand holding a crozier (bishop's pastoral staff), rendered in the rough, low-relief manner characteristic of early 12th-century French feudal coinage. The design is enclosed within a inner circle. The surrounding legend, reading BVCARDVS EPSV, identifies the issuing prelate, Bishop Bouchard, and runs along the outer periphery of the flan. The lettering is in coarse Latin capitals typical of Romanesque ecclesiastical issues. The overall strike is irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production of the period.
Schrift voorzijde Latin

Beschrijving keerzijde A bold pattée-style cross occupies the central field, dividing the reverse into four quarters; a single pellet is placed in the second (upper right) and third (lower left) quarters, serving as decorative fillers characteristic of Meaux episcopal coinage. The cross extends nearly to the inner circle, creating a strong compositional focal point. A circular legend, CIVITAS MELDIS, preceded by a cross pommée, runs along the outer border and identifies the city of Meaux as the place of issue. The lettering is in coarse Latin capitals consistent with Romanesque minting conventions of the early 12th century.
