Additional information

Bahram IV ruled for roughly five years before being killed by his own nobles — a fate that summarizes the chronic instability of late Sasanian succession politics. His coinage is scarce across all denominations, but the obol, struck at fractional weight for small-transaction use, survives in genuinely low numbers. The SNS Ia1/3 reference places this among the earliest die groupings of his reign.
